REVAMPING LOOKING TO FUTURE – SORRENTO

Acontemporary take on the classic Australian home with a view to catering for future generations was the brief for the renovation of this Sorrento home by West-Ville Constructions.

Owners Michael and Catherine Kolomyjec had lived in the home for 18 years and said a small crack in the backyard swimming pool prompted them to overhaul the alfresco area, create a new pool and build a separate pool house with a living area, kitchen and bathroom.

To retain the slope of the 710sqm block, the new 11.8m x 3.8m pool had to be built first and the remainder of the renovations and additions built around it.

Mrs Kolomyjec said the retreat/pool house was the perfect spot for guests to stay, for her three children to hang out in when or as an option if her mother- in-law needed to live with them in the future…
